How Table Unions work
We welcome you to join one of our existing gatherings, called Table Unions, or create your own group!
Upon joining, you will receive the Table Union Handbook that will guide you through each meeting and outlines what to expect as a participant.
Table Talk
Each gathering begins with a discussion session to introduce the theme of the meeting. The handbook will guide your conversation with specific Table Topics (guiding questions) to help your group navigate the particular theme. This first part of the meeting is an open forum for conversation to flow freely; participants are welcome to engage in dialogue or simply listen to the discussion. The handbook contains a guiding framework to ensure healthy and productive conversations.
2. Scripture Study
This is an intentionally structured opportunity to spend time in scripture, to study and share Bible stories. What this looks like:
A designated participant (Scripture Speaker) shares a prepared talk based on scripture that addresses the meeting theme
A designated participant (Prober) poses follow-up questions for the group to discuss
3. Question Quest
This is a time for your group to talk about what additional questions today’s meeting has raised for people:
Have 1-2 people share what they resonated with during today’s Table Talk.
Have 1-2 people share what God might be revealing to them through today’s Scripture Study.
Have 1-2 people share what most challenged their thinking (preconceived notions that they came with) during today’s meeting.
