What is Biblical Orality?
Biblical Orality is a term that refers one’s deep knowledge, understanding and intimacy with scripture to the point that one is able to:
1. Relay: ability to communicate with others about scripture through an increased Biblical knowledge and oral capacity.
2. Express: ability to convey deeper theological thoughts and ideas based on scripture.
3. Engage: ability to be involved in an active relationship with God and with others through scripture.
Biblical Orality naturally develops disciples and promotes a discipleship model. Biblical Orality goes beyond the confines of Biblical literacy (ability to read scripture; head knowledge of scripture) and it is critical for lived Christianity, which is the formation of all Christians to faithfully live out the call to follow and emulate Jesus Christ. Biblical Orality is a yearning to know God intimately; it is a deep desire to be more like Christ, to be transformed into holiness and sanctification through the power of the Holy Spirit.
